“The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is facilitated. Sacral subluxation may contribute to difficult labor for the mother (i.e., dystocia), caused by inadequate uterine function, pelvic contraction, and baby mal-presentation. Correction of sacral subluxation may have a positive effect on all of these causes of dystocia.”

Chiropractic care focuses on optimizing joint motion throughout the spine and body. This can be achieved through hands on manipulation, instrument assisted manipulation, stretches, and exercise. Typically, an immediate release accompanies a hands on manipulation, causing an audible ”crack” or “pop” that provides the patient with instant relief.
We understand the toll pregnancy takes on the body and the restrictions that are placed on this population for pain relief. Dr. Emma is Webster Certified meaning she is trained to treat prenatal patients, maximizing mom’s comfort and creating the most space for baby’s position. Along with chiropractic care, she can provide you with advice, resources, and referrals to help maximize your preparedness for birth.
Pregnancy, birth, and caring for a newborn can leave the body feeling less than amazing. Get back to moving and feeling like yourself quicker with postpartum care. Postpartum care includes screening for diastasis recti, abnormal bleeding, pelvic floor insufficiencies, mental health questionnaire, and referral to appropriate providers when needed. In addition to chiropractic, postpartum care includes ergonomic advice and rehabilitation specialized for your goals and needs.
The last few weeks of gestation and birth itself can place physical stress on a newborn’s developing cranial bones and spinal column. Infant chiropractic treatments are applied using gentle and sustained pressure; about the amount one would use to check the ripeness of a tomato and is so gentle babies may even fall asleep during treatment. We recommend all babies get checked in their first few weeks of life due to their rapidly developing nervous system and to optimize development.
Signs you should bring your baby in for care include possibility of tongue/ lip tie, difficulty with breastfeeding, constipation, colic, constant fussiness, recurring ear infections, discomfort laying in certain positions, always holding the same posture, and other minor physical insufficiencies. Studies show chiropractic care is indicated if the baby was born via instrument assisted birth (c-section, forceps, vacuum), especially quick/ prolonged birth, and multiparous birth.
Chiropractic care can help spines of all ages and it is applied differently according to spinal maturity. Anyone who has observed a young child play can understand the importance of chiropractic in their developing spine. All the bumps, falls, and jumps can cause their developing spine and pelvis to become fixated or move less than optimally. Keep your little one moving and exploring, pain free and thriving, with regular chiropractic care.
Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is a therapy utilizing a metal tool and friction. The tool is moved along the surface of the skin targeting the fascia layer just below the skin’s surface. This therapy is typically mildly uncomfortable and may result in redness on the skin’s surface in response to friction. This therapy can be useful in relieving or reducing symptoms of frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, trigger finger, plantar fasciitis, post surgical or post trauma scar tissue, and much more. Patient’s receiving this therapy report instant and lasting results.
